Every time I think of this vintage hippo planter, I get such an awful twinge of wanting-ness. He's so fricking cool (and somewhat Jonathan Adler-ish). Listed by silocurb.

These plates from H is for Home have such a wonderful pattern. I'd be tempted to hang them on my walls.

Confession

Far far too much of my shopping is dictated by a very nimble cat. No matter how inaccessibly I place something, I soon find her dangling from that space with the pretty object in pieces on the floor. This handblown bottle by RVAGlass is one of the things I covet, but do not dare to even dream about. (But wouldn't it look lovely clustered with lots of other orange and yellow and one or two turquoise bottles on a mantle?)

Resolutions

I'm going to focus on things that would help my new years resolution - prettifying my house. You've been warned.

2009 shall be the year that we make a cncerted effort to artify our lovley home (and maybe slap some paint on those yawn-inducing taupe walls). This print by andykehoe would make a wonderful start to that resolution. Life is too short to live with bare walls!

Why is it always during this time of year when gift ideas are so much in need, that I start slacking on the posts? Possibly cause I've been spending too much time shopping and getting ready for the holidays. No excuses though!

I'm absolutely in love with these earrings by asetugrul. Just the right shade, prefect dangleyness, and just the right level of fancyness. They would never leave my ears.

These merino wool bracelets by easternsky are the prettiest things I've seen as of yet today. They also make them in cotton and (even better!) silk.
